The TASS knife came about when the Seal Platoon decided to have a platoon knife. They also wanted to honor a lost team member Matthew Kantor that was killed in Afghanistan in 2012. Kantor's SOCOM issued designator call sign was E-4.   Kantor received a bronze Star for his bravery in action and saving many lives.  So all the Seals knives have  TASS -E4  on the blade. This way these guys will be able to honor Kantor on every mission and every time they use the TASS -E4.  The Seals are the only men to get knives with the E4 call sign on the blade. The rest of you men get knives with TASS only blade markings U.S.A .

Made in the USA with full tang construction and 01 tool steel with a RC of 56. This  black cerakote blade is  3/16" thick,  9 1/2" overall, 1 1/2" wide with a 5" blade. Left side of the blade reads TASS with USA and the right side reads TREEMAN KNIVES.  The lanyard hole is built into the blade.  The handle material with Boa G-10 which is just plain awesome and it comes with 2 mil-spec black screws and a black lanyard. This one comes with a Treeman Leather Shop sheath made using the best Herman Oaks leather in black. The sheath is well stitched and riveted in key points for long lasting wear and protection. This sheath is heavy duty and is custom made for this knife. It comes with a 3 1/2" belt loop, security strap with snap and a leg lanyard.  Super heavy duty all around knife!
