RS PRUSSIA FLORAL SATIN FINISH COVERED CHOCOLATE POT RED MARK SIGNED PORCELAIN

A wonderful opportunity to own an original and intact signed RS Prussia covered chocolate pot in terrific original condition.

The primary decoration on this piece is pink roses.  There is a large amount of hand painted gold decoration accenting pink roses (transfers).  The roses are also accented and highlighted with a leaves decoration all around in colors of green and lavender.  There is a satin, pearl or matte finish over the entire pot.  The base color of the piece is light cream or off-white.

I purchased this piece in 1993.  I have never used it; it has only been displayed and enjoyed.  I am downsizing my collection and have decided to sell this lovely piece.

The chocolate pot is clearly marked with the authentic RS Prussia red star mark.  This mark is shown as Mark 4, Plate 4 on page 33 of the book The Collectors Encyclopedia of R. S. Prussia by Mary Frank Gaston.

The chocolate pot has a melon ribbed body and the piece is finely modeled and made of the usual thin high quality porcelain that the Schlegelmilch factories are famous for.  The mold for this piece is “Mold 506” and is pictured on page 106 (Plate 276) in the book The Collectors Encyclopedia of R. S. Prussia: Third Series by Mary Frank Gaston.  In this same book on page 105 there is a cider pitcher (Plate 274) that is made in this same mold pattern and has an almost identical decoration to this piece.

A beautiful and very desirable piece!

I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability.  Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color.  However, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or with requests for additional pictures.  I will get back to you as soon as I am able.  I want your transaction with me to be exactly the way I want mine to be when I am the buyer.

Age and Condition

Circa 1900-1920.

It is in great original condition.  Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item.  I find no chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines or repairs.  Both the pot and the lid ring like a bell when I tap them anywhere with my ring.  There is some minimal wear to the gold around the top rim of the pot.  The pot does have a slight wobble if placed on a hard flat surface.  Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times bigger in the photos than it really is.

Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.  It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo.

Approximate Dimensions

The coffee pot is about 4” (10.2 cm) in diameter, about 6.5” (16.5 cm) from the tip of the spout to the top of the handle and sits about 9.75” (24.8 cm) off the table at the finial.

Approximate Weight

About 1 pound 2.625 ounces (528 grams) for the entire set.

SALES TAX

I am required to charge 6.5% Ohio State Sales Tax on all purchases shipped to an address within the State of Ohio.

International shipment options will be via USPS First Class Mail (when the item being shipped meets the requirements of that service) or Priority Mail when it does not.

DO NOT ask us to show a lesser value on the Customs Forms than the item sold for, or to ship the item purchased item as a gift.  Ebay requires us to report any buyer to them who requests this.
