Ascent is the debut album from saxophonist Tyler Rix, who originally found himself in the spotlight on BBC2's Classical Star talent show in 2008, at the tender age of fifteen. Despite not winning the contest, Rix garnered much praise for his performances and has since signed with Universal. This collection of songs showcases his superb musical ability, bringing a young, vibrant feel to both old and new classical pieces. Includes "Agnus Dei" and "Mortal Flesh".
