2)     HOW do I rent?…. It’s simple!

Ø  Cost stated is for the hire period in the title. We charge in 7-day blocks, but the rental contract is from the date you leave home, until the date you arrive home in the UK. Your rental period is the number of full or partial days that the Sat Nav is required for.

5)     Postage – how does it work

•       To You: FREE Delivery to your UK address, using Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For. Note, if your hire commences more than 6 working days away, we may use Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For, but will still arrive at least 2-3 days before your holiday. It will be marked as fragile, wrapped in a bubble postage bag, and will require a signature on arrival. If the postman attempts to deliver whilst you are out, they should leave a card. Please visit your local collection centre (ID required) to collect your Sat Nav. Check Royal Mail website/the card for address and opening time of your local centre. **Note, we dispatch just ahead of your departure date, not right after you order. Ebay do not include this as a postage option. Please expect the Sat Nav to arrive 2-3 days before your departure. However, during busy periods, we very occasionally may deliver the day before your depart. If this is the case, we will upgrade to Next Day Guaranteed Delivery, and check with you if there is a more convenient delivery address. If you are ordering very close to departure (within 72hrs), we may suggest you switch to Special next day delivery, to ensure delivery on time. We would only charge you the difference in price. This, however, remains your choice.

•        From You: Return postage to be paid by buyer. Please return by Royal Mail 1st class signed for delivery. Please ensure you make the post the day after you land, at the latest please (late returns incur a small fee as per T+C below). Please mark as 'Fragile' and ensure it is well padded. If you do not send as 'Signed For' or send without the word FRAGILE on the front, or without sufficient protection, you will be liable for loss or damage, as Royal Mail will not pay unless this instruction has been followed. You will be liable for payment of damage. You can also deliver back in person to our address in Surrey (KT15). If you require an extension on your return, please e-mail me to authorise this before you depart – We can usually be flexible.

Terms and Conditions:

Please ask if you have any queries with the terms and conditions.

IMPORTANT ***Late return fee (i.e. unit does not make the post the next working day after you return) is £3 per day. If your flight is delayed, there will NOT be a charge, as long as you let us know by the day you were supposed to post back *** If the Sat Nav is more than 5 days late AND we have not heard from you after at least 2 attempted emails and 2 attempted phone calls, we may escalate to ebay. We do not like doing this, and will only do so if necessary. We will always try and resolve with you first.

Malfunction:

In the unlikely event that the Sat Nav should stop working in any way, please contact us straight away and we will detail how to fix the Sat Nav, to get you up and running again. If we can't do this reasonably quickly, we will authorise purchase of a replacement. We will locate and guide you to where to pick up the replacement. We compensate 1 days worth of overseas data and any phone calls made between you and JP Sat Nav Hire to resolve the issue.

Theft:

In the unlikely event that you experience theft of the Sat Nav, please act as if it were your own property. I.e. Report to police, obtain police ref. number, and contact us ASAP. Your travel insurance should cover the cost. If you do not have insurance or do not want to claim from insurance, please contact us to discuss replacement charge. Replacement charges will be appropriate to the cost of the unit.

Loss/Damage:

In the unlikely event that you loose or damage any equipment, please advise us ASAP.

Replacement costs:

Sat Nav £89, USB Cable: £3, In-Car charger: £15, Windshield mount: £8, Stylus pen: £1, User guide: £4, Box: £3

(The maximum we will charge you if everything is lost/damaged will be £89. You may wish to claim on your insurance dependent on the situation)

Returning equipment:

Please ensure ALL items hired are returned. (Charges will be made in the event of missing items - as above).

Delayed Return:

In the unlikely event that your flight is delayed coming home, don't panic (it happens to us all occasionally!) Please let me know ASAP, so we can plan for your revised return posting date. Any delay due to factors reasonably beyond your control will not incur late fees.

Return Postage

The Sat Nav must be sent back to us using the designated postal method. If a slower service is used, and the return is delayed as a result, we may charge a late return fee.

If an alternative provider is used, other than Royal Mail (without prior agreement), we reserve the right to chare a £10 admin fee if it results in us needing to go to a pick up point.

Disclaimer:

Please remember to operate the Sat Nav safely whilst driving. This includes (but is not limited to) ensuring that you do not programme the Sat Nav whilst driving. In hiring, you (the rental recipient) are taking full responsibility for your safety whilst operating the Sat Nav, as well as the safe keeping of the Sat Nav.

The Sat Nav is hired to you as a working, fully functional Sat Nav. If we do not hear from you within 24 hours of you receiving the Sat Nav, we will assume the Sat Nav ,and all accessories, have been received in working, undamaged order.

We, as the rental supplier, take no responsibility whatsoever for any incidences which may result from the use of the Sat Nav or any of its accessories. This includes, but is not limited to injury, misdirection, loss (financial or time). We are not responsible for any consequential damage, loss or expense.

The Sat Nav/accessories contain small items. It is recommended that children do not handle or use this equipment.

We cannot be held responsible for motoring offenses or fines resulting from the driver relying on the Sat Nav. The speed limit warning and speed camera warnings on the Sat Nav should be used as a guide only.. We stress the importance of safe and legal motoring practices whilst in the possession of the Sat Nav.

Whilst we endeavour to ensure Sat Navs are fully charged and are reset to default settings, we recommend that you check the setting preferences when you receive the Sat Nav and restore to default. You may like to check the following: Volume, language highway/toll road settings, and speed limit notification settings.

Crime prevention:

It is suggested that you hide or remove all parts of the Sat Nav from your vehicle whenever you leave the vehicle.
