Blue Green Patina Solution for Copper, Brass or Bronze 15, 30, 45 or 100ml (approx.) You can apply the solution by which ever method suits the piece that the patina is to be added to. Once you have covered the required areas with the solution it should be left to dry completely, approx. 48 hours, this will depend on the ambient temp and humidity. If you want more patina then carefully reapply the solution the areas where you want more patina and allow the same drying time. Once you have the colour / patina that you want you can add extra interest to the piece by polishing it back / removing some of the patina to create different surface textures. In the pictures you can see some copper squares that I soaked in the solution for 24 hours it was then left to dry for about 36 hours at room temperature then polished back with some fine wire wool. I have been using this particular formula for a few years and have always been happy with the results I have achieved.
My patina's have been developed to create a natural patina, they should be treated as you would treat any solution as you would with normal kitchen cleaners, avoid contact with skin and eye's if this happens then rinse with lot's of clean cold water, wash hands after use. Do not ingest the powder or solution, protect clothing and work surfaces as the solutions can stain. |
