Liver of Sulphur Gel 15ml (approx).

This Gel is probably the stongest that you will find on Ebay, it is as thick as honey

It has an extended shelf life so can be stored for a longer period of time than standard LOS and also lasts longer when it has been made into a solution.

Liver of Sulphur (also known as Ammonium Hydro-Sulphide) is used to add an aged vintage / antique patina to many metals including Silver, Copper and Brass.

I have been using this particular solution for a long time obtaining very good consistent results.

This concentrated liquid should be diluted at a ratio of about 200:1 (10ml will make approx. 2 litre of solution) with hot water (I use water at about 60 deg C) but this ratio can be adjusted depending on how quickly you want the colour to develop, the less concentrated the solution you use the easier it is to control the colour generation.

Some of the colours that can be generated are shades of purple, blue, black and coppers in many different depths and hues from complete deep black to the lightest purple greys.

Once you have the colour that you want you can add to the interest of the piece by polishing it back the to reveal / create surface textures.

To extend the life Liver of Sulphur it should be kept in a dark cool environment until it's mixed for use.
