Girls is an American television series that premiered on HBO on April 15, 2012. Created by and starring Lena Dunham and executive produced by Judd Apatow, Girls is a comedy-drama following the lives of four young women living in New York City. The show's premise and major aspects of the main character were drawn from Dunham's own life.[3] It ended on April 16, 2017, with a total of 62 episodes over the course of 6 seasons.

The series has received a positive response from critics and consistent accolades, including the 2013 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
