Transom service kit for 'R', #1, or also called Pre Alpha drives

The "R" drive is also known as a #1 (number one) drive.
It is often referred to as a "Pre-Alpha" drive as it was made
before the newer Alpha One Drive from 1972-1983.

Easy identified by either Ribs on sides of driveshaft housing or the eye hook on the top cap.  Note: top cap could have be replaced with newer flat cap.

Note: Prior to '72 the ujoint bellow did not have a ridge in it and this kit does not fit that drive.  See picture.

Please note, the threaded end of the shift cable was reversed approximately 1978. Please check which end the 'hex' side of threaded end of the shift cable is on and compare it to the picture.  This kit is for approx. 1978-1983 since the shift cable is different prior to '78
