Martin C. Brown has an extensive computer and technology background. He is a consultant and author with eighteen years of multi-platform (Unix, Windows, Mac OS, BeOS, EPOC) administration and programming experience in Perl, Python, Shellscript, Basic, Pascal, C/C++, Java, JavaScript, VBScript, Awk, and others. He helped fund the largest ISP in the UK--Demon Internet Services--and was technial consultant to the Interenet Technology Group plc, the third largest UK ISP. Martin was the chief technical architect of the first-ever Systems Buyers Guide. He worked for the UK Government body responsible for IT in education (NCET), the BBC, and the GCHQ, where he instructed employees how to use the Internet as an operative research tool.<br> <br> He also spent seven years working in the advertising industry. During that time he recommended, installed , and managed cross-platform solutions for publishing, print management, and production for clients such as Digital, Oracle, Hewlett-Packard, and Cable & Wireless.
