A handsome pair of African carved black stones, depicting a man and a woman.  These are solid and quite handsome.  Female carving is 7" tall, male carving is 6 1/2" tall.  Personally brought back from Africa by my father after one of his forty safaris!  Comes from a non-smoking environment. Please see the photos for condition.

Welcome to my Africa Shoppe.  Since the late Sixties my Dad was consumed with Africa and exploration.  He'd been all over Africa, from big game hunting areas to photo safari areas.  Some of the stories he told of his adventures were pretty hair-raising! My Dad even participated in one of those Mutual Of Omaha 'Wild Kingdom' episodes.  Some of the countries he visited no longer exist.  Some of the countries he visited are no longer safe or advisable to enter.  Yet, Dad had a real love for Africa -- the wildlife, the land & scenery, the various people and cultures, the history.  In order to furnish his home he shipped back crate upon crate of decorator items from Africa.  We are now selling it all, every last piece.  Everything from carved wooden chairs, amazing woodblock printed art suites, native impressionist artwork, carved masks & stone, carved wooden figures of indigenous people & wildlife from 6" to 6' tall, exquisite primitive woven rugs, etcetera.  I will eventually be listing dozens of items at a time -- at all price ranges.  There will be plenty of items from $10.00 and up, and there will also be many that are more expensive and highly unique pieces, too.  We are selling an extensive collection of books on African wildlife and African people & culture that are really breathtaking -- those are available, too.  There are many books on big game hunting in Africa, many leather bound and signed by the authors.  Also available are Safari Club International items such as my Dad's bronze & wood awards, other Club items & publications, and Weatherby Rifles related items.
NO RESERVE SALE - ONE BID WILL WIN THIS PAIR OF STONE CARVINGS OF AN AFRICAN COUPLE
Please see many other fine and unusual African artwork pieces along with several other African decorator items on my other auctions -- more to come, too.
