ALS written by Nicholas Fairfield in Canton China 1828 with Fairfield's Bible with manuscript bookplate dated 1812. Conton: March 10, 1828. Single paper letter composed in ink on 10" x 7.5" lettersheet. Lettersheet contains old folds and separations along folds have been repaired with old tape causing browning. On the verso of the separations is later white tape. Fairfield writes to Miss. Mary Pratt of Wrentham, Mass. concerning the China ware that she commissioned him to purchase in Canton.

The Bible accompanying this fine letter is a thick quarto volume bound in full calf. The boards are extremely worn and detached. On the front board is a paper label reading "Fairfield Bible 1812". The interior is quite spotted and browned. On the front pastedown is a marvelous manuscript bookplate reading "The Property of Nicholas Fairfield 1812". The bible itself is entitled (Collin's Stereotype Edition.) The Holy Bible: Containing the Old and New Testaments. Together with the Apocrypha. Published in New York by Collins and Co. 1816. A marvelous accompaniment to the Canton letter composed by Fairfield.

Also comes with wooden box to house the bible.
