- Why Golf?
Williams employs hundreds of the world’s leading materials scientists and the
most talented aerodynamicists to design its F1 cars. Away from the office many
of them can be found competing on the golf courses close to their Oxfordshire
headquarters; it's difficult to switch such bright and competitive minds off.
Williams realised that to engineer a better driver the process should be
identical to that for a modern Formula 1 car. After all the target is the same:
for the most advanced performance and maximum power delivery both require
designs that achieve top speed efficiently, with stability and control created
through a scientific harmony of innovative aerodynamics and pioneering
materials science. Thus Williams Racing Golf was born - specialising in
applying Williams' F1 World Championship winning expertise to improve the game
of golf.
