The RDR-HXD995 is a critically-acclaimed hard disk drive and DVD recorder and it’s easy to see why. It makes recording quick and simple, offers superb recording quality and boasts a range of other great features for first-rate entertainment.

With an 500GB hard disc drive and built-in analogue and digital tuners, the RDR-HXD995 can record hundreds of hours of television. When recording video you can choose from seven recording quality presets with the highest quality being able to store around 73 hours of video on to the drive and the lowest around 420 hours. You can also pick 32 manual recording modes giving your more flexibility for DVD burning or transferring camcorder video for example.

Recording is simple; press record and the RDR-HXD995 will start recording the show you’re watching or just load up the Freeview EPG, find a programme that’s on in the next eight days and press record - It’s that simple! You can also take advantage of Series Link which will automatically record every episode in the series of a particular programme. The recorder is also very flexible. For example while you record a programme on to the disc, you can simultaneously use the EPG, watch something from a DVD or on the hard drive, edit programmes or copy them on to blank DVDs. Another handy feature is Intelligent Chaptering. This automatically inserts markers at key points such as scene changes or the start and end of adverts breaks, making it easier to search for a section, skip through or edit the recording.

The digital tuner inside the RDR-HXD995 produces natural looking images with sharp edges and smooth motion. Plus the built-in 1080p upscaling provides very impressive video and DVD playback picture quality on an HDTV.

The RDR-HXD995 can also provide entertainment from compatible USB devices, CDs or DVDs. There are dual USB ports allowing transfer music and photos on to the hard disc or playing them directly from a connected compatible device. The hard drive can store up to 999 songs, making the HXD995 a fantastic digital music jukebox. You can also rip audio CDs on to the hard drive at fast speeds and without any loss of audio quality.

JPEG image files can be displayed straight from a compatible device or disc and transferred on to the hard disc. Photos can be displayed in enhanced Photo Slide Shows complete with sound and transition effects and these slideshows can be burnt to DVD for archiving or sharing with friends and family. The second USB port can also be used with PictBridge compatible printers, allowing you to print images stored on the hard disk.

The DVD player can play and record on to almost all DVD formats as well as play high-quality DivX video files stored on DVDs or CDs

An i.Link (DV) input on the front of the recorder can be used to copy video from a compatible camcorder directly on to the hard drive or DVD - Great for archiving video or sharing it with friends and family.
