1. THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY.
The Ultimate Gorehound House Party
From LUCIO FULCI... director of ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS and THE BEYOND.
A
young family moves from their cramped New York City apartment to a
spacious new home in New England. But this is no ordinary house in the
country: the previous owner was the deranged Dr. Freudstein, whose
monstrous human experiments have left a legacy of bloody mayhem. Now,
someone - or something - is alive in the basement, and home sweet home
is about to become a horrific hell on earth.
Catriona MacColl
(CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD), Paolo Malco (THE NEW YORK RIPPER), Ania
Pieroni (TENEBRE) and Dagmar Lassander (FORBIDDEN PHOTOS OF A LADY ABOVE
SUSPICION) star in this outrageous Italian shocker from Lucio Fulci,
`The Godfather of Gore.' Considered to be one of the master's last great
films, THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY is presented in widescreen, enhancing
the mind-blowing onslaught of throat-ripping, skull-knifing,
maggot-spewing and more! [IT/1984/COL/2.35:1]
2. HORROR EXPRESS
China 1900,
an anthropologist (CHRISTOPHER LEE) unearths what he believes to be the
scientific find of the new century: the centuries-old frozen body of a
gigantic ape-like man, a veritable "missing link."
With his
souvenir crated-up, he boards the train back to Europe unaware his
ancient fossil is still alive -- a red eyed monster that boils its
victims brains by absorbing their intelligence, turning them into
zombies possessed by the creature's evolving personality!
Pretty
soon even TELLY SAVALAS (as a power-mad Cossack) is raving among the
train full of zombies, and it's up to Lee and rival anthropologist PETER
CUSHING to destroy them... or die! Thrills and chills aplenty in
Eugenio Martín's sharp, fast-paced Spanish-British zombiefest.

3. OASIS OF THE ZOMBIES
During WW2, a
small German squadron was assigned the task of carrying a shipment of
Nazi gold across the Sahara desert. Along the way, the squadron was
ambushed by the allies, and only one American soldier survived...
Now,
his son bands together three fellow treasure hunters to reclaim the
$6,000,000 in Nazi gold that remains buried at the oasis... guarded by
the restless, rotting souls who died protecting it.
NAZI ZOMBIE mayhem from JESS FRANCO (Vampyros Lesbos; Dracula; Women Behind Bars). [FR/1981/COL/1.33:1]
4. THE CANNIBAL GOD
Prepare yourself for the notorious shocker...
When
her anthropologist husband disappears in New Guinea, Susan Stevenson
(URSULA ANDRESS of DR. NO) convinces her colleague Dr. Edward Foster
(STACY KEACH of PRISON BREAK) to lead her into the dark heart of the
deadly jungle.
But while exploring the forbidden mountain of
Ra-Rami, the expedition is attacked and captured by a tribe of primitive
natives. Even if they can escape the barbaric tortures of these
flesh-eating savages, can Susan survive the depraved lust of their
Cannibal God? [IT/1978/COL/2.35:1]
5. BLIND DEAD III: HORROR OF THE ZOMBIES
THE BLIND DEAD RETURN TO HUNT TENDER FLESH ON THE HIGH SEA!
In
what many fans consider the most surprising of the four films in the
series, Maria Perschy (CASTLE OF FU MANCHU) and Jack Taylor (EUGENIE)
star in writer/director AMANDO DE OSSORIO'S chilling tale about a
boatload of stranded swimsuit models who discover a mysterious ghost
ship...
But this phantom galleon carries the coffins of the
satanic Templar, eyeless zombies who hunt humans by sound. Even if these
frightened lovelies can survive their own forbidden desires, will they
escape the insatiable hunger of the BLIND DEAD? [SP/1974/COL/1.33:1]
6. DRILLER KILLER
GRITTY MASTERPIECE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF BAD LIEUTENANT AND KING OF NEW YORK!
Banned
in the 80's, ABEL FERRARA'S 1979 cult classic THE DRILLER KILLLER stars
Ferrara himself (under the pseudonym 'Jimmy Laine') as Reno Miller, an
artist being driven mad by the pressures of New York life who takes to
the streets and begins murdering derelicts with a power drill.
Although
Ferrara intended to make a film in the tradition of THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW
MASSACRE, the end result bore an even greater resemblance to MARTIN
SCORSESE'S TAXI DRIVER. The Driller Killer is an indispensable addition
to the collection of anyone interested in 1970s horror, the work of Abel
Ferrara, or off-the-wall cinema. [US/1979/COL/1.33:1]
7. THE SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA
Ingeniously
brought up-to-date, Dracula is undead and well and living in London,
with a plot to bring about the extinction of mankind with a deadly
plague virus in HAMMER HOUSE OF HORROR'S final Dracula outing...
Dracula
(CHRISTOPHER LEE) and his adversary Lorimer Van Helsing (PETER CUSHING)
reach the end of the line amidst the desolate, rain-streaked concrete
city scapes of the early 1970s. Dracula has, it seems, allowed his
contempt for humanity to reach its logical conclusion: no longer content
with drinking blood, he has gathered together a group of scientists and
created a plague which will eradicate all life on earth. Also staring
JOANNA LUMLEY. [GB/1973/COL/1.78:1]
8. DEVIL'S NIGHTMARE
One
of the few horror movies shot in Belgium this deliriously sexy spooker
has a coachload of tourists arriving one stormy night to seek refuge in a
spooky old castle. They should have held out for the Holiday Inn,
because they soon meet gory deaths by quicksand, guillotine and iron
maiden.
It's all down to the presence of a sexy succubus (played
by ERIKA BLANC), who is one hot babe, showing off her belly-button in a
slinky, kinky outfit! She likes to make love to men and suck out their
souls, and we can certainly think of worse ways to go...
[BE/1971/COL/1.78:1]
9. MESSIAH OF EVIL
A horror gem by
the writing and directing team behind "Howard The Duck" plus screenplays
for both "AMERICAN GRAFFITI" and "INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF
DOOM"? Hard to believe, but this is the genuine article, a largely
forgotten early '70s classic filled with moments that are so uncanny,
the term "Lynchian" would be perfect had the David Lynch brand been
invented in 1972.
This movie has quickly gathered cult status not least for it now legendary 'Cinema Scene'. [US/1972/COL/1.33:1]
10. DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT
The lunatics have truly taken over the asylum in this notorious slice of 1970s exploitation horror...
From its low-key beginning to its shocking,
blood-spattered finale, Don't Look in the Basement boasts a string of
gory moments throat slashings, eyeball piercings, tongue removals that
ensured it made it onto the 1980s 'VIDEO NASTY' list.
Previously banned
by the British Board of Film Classification, and guaranteed to offend
with its sensationalist approach to the mentally ill, Don't Look in the
Basement was the first film by cult 70s director S.F. Brownrigg.
