This is a High Performance Turntable Ceramic Bearing
The ceramic is harder than ruby and sapphire, and much harder than any steel or quartz.
This ceramic bearing is a great upgrade from the standard stainless steel ball bearings and other tipes of ceramic bearings
They are non-magnetic, electrically insulating and have a very low thermal expansion.
So are used in high performance equipment, particularly in professional sports equipments (bikes, skates, roller blades, etc.) and even in the space industry.
It is scientifically proved that ceramic bearings far outweigh the steel bearings, reducing friction in 8-10 times.
This is a great improvement for increasing the performance of your turntable.
A Rega Planar (and clones) is already a piece of art. The only thing it needs is a Drive Belt in good condition and be oiled from time to time.
Reducing friction also reduces the vibrations transmitted to the plinth and the arm.
Are obtained bass more safer, without distortion and treble more crystalline, without sibilance.
The lower friction also increases the life of the motors and Drive Belts, because they work with much less stress.
