Description

Complete Set of Eight Lego Technic Slizers.

with all eight instructions books and two throwing discs per slizer

With the cardboard outer Boxes

The photos make the boxes appear better than they are! = they are nearly 20 years old

To obtain a complete set of eight with all the books and all the accessories such as the katana sword, the ski pole, the spear gun is getting very difficult.

The Slizers was a line of Lego toys released in 1999 similar to Bionicle. They were known as Throwbots in the United States  but were called Slizers in Europe. The name Throwbots refers to the unique disk-throwing function the toys have (not so unique anymore as several of the Bionicles have this action).

Wikia have produced some fairly comprehensive details about the slizers which you can find at :-

http://bionicle.wikia.com/wiki/Slizer/Throwbots

The original eight are

8500 Torch the Fire Slizer

The Fire Slizer resides in the Volcanic Sector and fights off lava monsters. The volcanic sector is one of the most dangerous sectors on the planet. 30-mile high volcanoes, lava and fire glaciers, firestorms and constant volcanic eruptions. Torch's arch enemy is the inferno monster. Fire is equipped with a throwing disk. In the Faction storyline, he plays the leader of the protagonists. His design is a bit awkward as his arms are at the top and the head and legs are on the bottom giving him a hunched, brawling look. He is among the four who survived the Millennium Meteor's impact. Torch collects "Lava Stone" to increase his flamethrower.

8501 Ski the Ice Slizer

Ski inhabits and patrols the frozen Glacial Sector between the City Sector and the Ocean Sector. It is completely covered in ice and snow. it is the coldest sector. and in the higher altitudes, Ski's arch nemesis, the avalanch monster. Beside his primary disk thrower, his secondary weapon is a ski-pole, which may fire energy attacks. He concerns himself with whatever creatures lurk in the region before the Meteor impact. Ski collects "Ice Crystals" to enhance his melee pole. Some reviews of this set can be read at :-

8502 Turbo the City Slizer

Turbo resides in the Urban Sector. The small buildings are 2000 feet high, and the big ones are over a mile and a half tall. Some reaching to space. As big as it is there is lots of criminals. But this city is so huge, many of the giant building don't have any people in them. People make a lot of factories, which cause greened skies, polluted water and waste. City's is very fast but his arch enemy is also fast, the giant simi-trucks. Turbo's design is unique among the Slizer, designed as a singlehanded car with a throwing arm on the right side of the body. He quests for a special fuel that will allow him to achieve blinding speeds, in addition to slaying Mutant Vehicles. He survived the meteor strike. Turbo collects Power Fuel to increase his fantastic speed. See the reviews at:-

8503 Scuba the Sub Slizer

This Slizer is also know as Aqua, resides underwater in the Ocean Sector. Exploding with life. Fish, giant wails, billions of sea creatures. But in the darker parts are where the sea monsters live. That is where Scuba's main enemy lives, the giant jelly fish.  His secondary weapon is an energy harpoon. Scuba's design is based off a deep-sea diver, featuring a breathing apparatus and a propeller on his back. He occupied himself with the accumulation of rare pearls before the meteor struck. Sub collects "Air Pearls"  to breath underwater. See the reviews at:-

8504 Jet the Judge Slizer

This sky flyer resided at the Slizer Dome or the Sky Sector at the planet's pole. It resembles giant parking lots or helicopter pads, due to its gravelled open spaces. It is also lit up with spotlights to look out for enemies in the sky. There are also, metallic pyramids that stand alone in the mists and huge blue clouds in the sky. Jet has two throwing-arms instead of a secondary weapon. He is unique among Slizer as he is capable of flight with two wings mounted with propellers. A simple gear system flaps the wings when his head is pulled, identical to the Nui-Rama. He is the leader of the evil faction in some storylines. He is believed to have died when the meteor blew apart most of his Slizer Dome. Jet dos not collect anything in particular, but in his picture its shown as a solar radiation. See the reviews at:-

8505 Amazon the Jungle Slizer

This Slizer resided in the rugged jungle Sector, of foliage and rivers. This is the overgrown part of the world.  The trees reach over 2000 feet high. There are two worlds to this sector. The canopy world and the swamp world. The canopies of the huge trees are big enough to have roads and houses on the branches. And The swamp world is were the main eating plants and animals are. like Amazon's man enemy, the giant carnivorous plant. Jungle design is humanoid, but he wears a feral mask reminiscent of a jungle cat. His secondary weapon is a black katana, presumably re-purposed as a jungle machete. He is believed to have died in the meteor explosion. Jungle collects "Herbal Trees" to increase his machete attacks.

8506 Granite the Rock Slizer

Granite resided in the Mountain Sector of the planet. This is the canyon-cut sector. Huge rock formation, earth-quakes and sand storms are local here. But there is plasma everywere. Plasma clouds, plasma rivers and plasma stones. But the deeper threat is the skull rock monster. Granite's secondary weapons are his pick axes located on his shoulders which can pivot to attack. His design is that of an insect. His throwing arm is unusually mounted on his back, making accurate throws impossible. He is able to fire energy bolts from his disk launcher and his pickaxes. His region was blown apart by the Meteor Impact. Granite collects "Liquid Plasma" to increase his energy shields.

8507 Electro the Energy Slizer

Also known as Electro Slizer, He resides in the volatile Storm Sector. The constant storm covered plains has not many inhabitants. The swirling storm is to dangerous. The landscape is unknown, for the clouds are much to thick to even see the ground. but Electro must fight Electric vortexes. He is the only one not to have a secondary weapon, but instead he releases electrical bursts from his body. This slizer is also designed as a quadruped insect. He is believed to have been destroyed when his region was annihilated. Electro collects "Electric Radiation" to boost his flying speeds.

8500 8501 8502 & 8503 can be combined to make one super slizer and the other four sets can be combined to make a different super slizer.   The instructions for these are divided between the books.

Each slizer will be dismantled, checked against the bricklink inventory and bagged seperately.

Please see the other lego I have listed - and do keep watch as I will be listing more

An excellent starter to bionicles or technic lego.  A super gift, birthday or Christmas present for a child age 7 or more, although many children are capable of building these at an earlier age.

Dual Stories

Two variations of the storyline existed; American and European, each with different names for the characters and settings. In the 'Multiple Planets' Storyline, the Slizers had Eight respective planets where each of the eight dwelled respectively: Fiery wasteland, aquatic world, overgrown jungle, the icy mountains, the industrial city, the stormy fields and the rocky canyons. The Eighth planet- Judge Slizer's- served as the point where they dueled or disputes were settled. Each of them battled the native mutant wildlife or other threats native to their planet. It is debated whether or not this story will diverge into the following 'Singular Planet' Storyline.

The 'Singular Planet' storyline was that there were Eight robots fighting a war against each other on One Planet split into Seven even continents/ regions- with the Slizer Dome situated at the North Pole. In this storyline, some have gone to some lengths to say that there were two sides- Four were 'Good' (Fire, Ice, City & Sub), and the other four were 'Evil' (Judge, Jungle, Rock & Energy). The concept of facing their respective natural threats in their zones were present, with the inclusion that each of them was trying to find an additional mineral, fuel or other item to make themselves stronger. Such as: Lava-Diamond[Fire], Air-Pearls[Sub], Ice-Crystals[Ice], Super-Fuel[City], Herbal-Treesap[Jungle], Liquid-Plasma[Rock], Atom-Energy[Energy]. The last power-up for Judge is unknown. Perhaps a Solar-Aura to take control over the planet.

In either storyline, all the characters/ both sides were evenly matched. The story reached a climax when a Meteor struck the Slizer Planet and blew apart half the planet; annihilating the Energy, Rock and Jungle Regions, and heavily damaging the Slizer Dome; where the Judge Slizer resided.

5 of the slizers have a cog action which has some sort of turning facility to change the angle of the slizer.  Two of the slizers have actions activated by pushing/pulling the head to make the "fans/wings" move back and forth. Granite is the only one which has a weapons action.
