Cab Ride No. 47 Dvd - Glasgow/Queen Street to Perth

This dvd, Cab Ride No. 47, was recorded on 12th July 1993 aboard the 09.25 service from Glasgow (Queen Street) to Aberdeen, one of ScotRail’s “Express” services over the route of the old North British and Caledonian Railway’s line between the two principal Scottish commercial centres.

The train ran to time, other than a short hold-up by adverse signals at Cowlairs.

The route taken was the North British Glasgow-Edinburgh line to Greenhill and the Caledonian line from there through Larbert, Stirling and Gleneagles to Perth.

From Greenhill to Hilton Junction (just outside Perth) the line is controlled by semaphore signalling.

We travelled aboard the prototype unit of the 158 class Express Sprinters, No. 158701.

Our Traction Inspector was Peter Walker, formerly of Eastfield Depot, now closed, which we pass as we leave Glasgow.

Please note there is no commentary other than cab conversations which are not always audible above locomotive sounds.

Approx. 55 minutes.

This new dvd is being sold with the full permission of the copyright holder: Kingfisher Productions.
