OPTALIGN smart RS5R is a laser shaft alignment system designed and manufactured for industrial applications.
It combines shaft alignment accuracy of rotating machinery (such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors)
with intuitive operation. This, thanks to the interactive user interface together with the 3-key operation:
DIMENSIONS – MEASUREMENT – RESULTS.
The OPTALIGN smart RS5R package features a 5-axis sensor with two XL HD PSD detectors planes and a high
precision inclinometer using MEMS resulting in a very powerful measurement tool. With this two large detector
planes, there is no limitation when measuring angle over distance, for example when spacer shafts and/or large
coupling diameters are to be aligned. This measurement principle is not sensitive to backlash (coupling play).
With the unique patented SWEEP measurement mode and the RS5 sensor, hundreds of points are taken
automatically (up to real 1000 points) while the shaft is rotated. Thus, the system assures an indisputable result
accuracy and precision.
The RS5 sensor offers another unique measurement benefit: machine corrections are done concurrently in
the vertical and horizontal direction with sensor at any angular position (same for soft foot
measurement). The shafts do not have to be rotated in order to live monitor the corrections. With OPTALIGN
smart RS5R the alignment job is even faster than before. The measurement data is transmitted wireless from the
RS5 sensor to the OPTALIGN smart computer through Bluetooth interface.
The reduced energy consumption combined with the computer Li-Ion rechargeable battery also means longer
run-time, whereby the laser and sensor battery status always gives a useful indication when using Bluetooth
communication. The sensor ambient light compensation allows measurements even in direct sunlight.
The OPTALIGN smart RS5R is a modular system consisting of a default package to which additional functions
can be added as per the application requirements.
