August 6, 1969 this beautiful drum came out out of the Ludwig factory. Famous for being the most recorded snare drum in history, this drum is the finest example of the heralded Ludwig Supraphonic that I have laid my eyes on (having owned approx. 15). Appears to be totally original except for the Remo heads. P-85 Strainer & Butt, tone control, snares, hoops, and tension rods are all period correct! This drum is in fantastic shape as the pictures show. Only one panel exhibits a minute amount of chrome flaking, which is all too common on these chrome plated aluminum shells. The picture shows the degree of this (which was difficult to capture, but needed to be mentioned). Amazing drum ready to be played or put on display!
