This kit has been specially designed so children can create their own model solar system for school projects.  However, these brilliant solid modelling spheres can also be used for an endless variety of fun crafts and demonstration models for education and are ideal as supporting frameworks or armatures for air drying clay, paper, papier mache, Decopatch, Play Doh, plasticine, Sculpy or Das and most other popular modelling doughs.  The solid spheres are easy to cut, great for 3D animations, as well as being useful for class work to demonstrate molecules and of course, the solar system.

The wooden rods are easy to trim to size and push into the spheres to allow the basic model to be constructed and children can paint and/or decorate them as they wish.  The balls can be coloured using water based paints or fibre tip pens ~ not included ~ but a similar set which includes paints and paint brush is available on our separate eBay listing, item number:  263527767145

The solid spheres in plain, white polystyrene are supplied in a selection of diameters from 2cm to 7cm for maximum versatility. The 24 piece set comprises:

The spheres will be supplied in a carton to ensure they are protected during transit.   A helpful hints and tips leaflet and diagram showing the planets of the solar system and their placement in relationship to the sun and other planets is included with this set.

As with all craft projects, adult supervision is recommended.   Care should be taken to protect clothing, soft furnishings and surfaces during craft activities as paints may stain.
