FOX HUNT HAND PAINTED STEEL ENGRAVED PLATE
FROM
HANDLEY CROSS, MR. JORROCKS'S HUNT 1854

AN ORIGINAL 1854 STUNNING HAND PAINTED STEEL ENGRAVED PLATE OF A COMICAL SCENE FROM A FOX HUNT FROM THE BOOK, HANDLEY CROSS; MR JORROCKS'S HUNT.

This stunning piece is rendered using the Victorian era steel engraved plates and each piece was individually hand painted. Below the plate is captioned "Mr. Jorrock's (log) - Come hup! I say .. You ugly beast", depicting an amusing engraving of a stubborn horse firmly standing his ground and refusing to jump the ravine!. The book housed 16 hand painted steel engraved plates, each unique. Each piece in on thick heavy paper with a cream toned border and a caption along the bottom of the engraving. They would be stunning framed, and would even look great framed as a set of two together! Would make an excellent gift for a horse, dog, or fox hunting lover, or even someone who loves antique hand painted Victorian engravings (some of the scenes depict social gatherings or events)
