This vintage 'Silit' West German Modernist 'OP' pattern blue enamel cooking/sauce pot, with stainless steel lid, teak lid pull and turned pot handle, is in very good condition. There is a slight flea bite on the inside of the white enamel along the rim. Otherwise, the edge of the pot doesn't suffer from the usual flea-bites (chipping) most vintage enamel pieces suffer from. The stainless steel lid also is slightly warped. It closes but may not be quite as it was originally constituted. The turned teak pot handle also shows some blackened scorching from a stove-top flame from a gas range. This is limited to the area immediately right outside of the stainless steel collar, connecting the handle to the body of the pot. All three imperfections are actually minor but had to have been mentioned. They are evidence this 50 year-old vintage enamel pot was used but not abused. The exterior surface of the enamel boasts brilliant cobalt and cerulean blue repeating squares w/holes in them and is still highly glossy and reflective. It's ready to be put back into action in your contemporary kitchen. A great everyday cooking/sauce pot.
