Extremely brilliant and colorfast, Jacquard’s Acid Dyes are concentrated, powdered, hot water dyes that yield the most vibrant results possible for protein fibres which include silk, wool, cashmere, alpaca, feathers and some nylons. When immersion dyeing Jacquard’s Acid Dyes produce a uniform colour, which is always a challenge for dyers. The colours are beautiful, transparent and luscious enough to dive into. They are generally used on the stove top - dissolve the dye in boiling water, add vinegar and stir. Add the garment, and stir regularly for about half an hour, keeping a low simmer. Rinse. In addition to yarn or garment dyeing, Jacquard Acid Dyes may also be used for painting or printing applications, using steam fixing. See www.jacquardproducts.com for further instructions.

The only acid involved is the white vinegar (acetic acid) that you add to the dye bath.

A 14 g bottle will colour up to 0.91 kg of fibre, depending on the depth of the shade.

PLEASE NOTE Colour chart gives an approximate colour, but this will vary depending on the fabric used. If the item being dyed is already coloured, this will affect the colour after dyeing.
