SELLING NEAR  ITS FINE .0933+ troy .9999 GOLD CONTENT //Austria 4 Florins---10 Francs, GOLD 1892  -- Depicts EMPEROR Franz Joseph I and emblem of Imperial Austria.    A GEM B.U.  A  FLAWLESS LUSTROUS GOLD COIN .   Hand selected for quality.

All 1892 dated Austrian gold 4 Florins 10 Francs are Austrian Mint official restrikes, issued partially as a commemorative of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Emperor Franz-Joseph, and partly as a gold bullion coin.
The dual denomination 4 Florins 10 Francs is one of the many denominations of gold coin which Austria has produced in its long history.   Between 1870 and 1892 Austria produced two different coin types, each of which carried face values in two different monetary systems, this is because these coins were "trade coinage" intended for international use as bullion coins. These types were the 20 francs / 8 florins which we feature on this page, and its sibling the 10 francs / 4 florins.

I  test  each coin, and unlike  "random dates"  sell only authentic  dates.

[Foster] draws on a wealth of primary and secondary sources, touching upon many diverse cultures, from the Chinese to the European to the American.  His professional familiarity with all types of currency and coinage grounds the book––making it refreshingly free of airy theories and complicated jargon, accessible to any intelligent reader.  It is a subject to be ignored at one’s own peril.  I highly recommend it.
