A NICELY PATINATED EDWARDIAN MAHOGANY "POISONERS BOX" & 4 BOTTLES c1910

This charming and beautifully patinated little box and has clearly been put to considerable use over the years.

The box contains four small matching ribbed brown bottles. These have white or black tops which are each fitted with glass 'dabbers' - presumanly for enabling the transfer of the minimum amount of the contents from the bottles...drop by drop. These small boxes originally had various uses one of which was to hold metal testing liquids which themselvrs were usually poisonous...

A highly desirable box for any collector of apothecary or medically related items or simply as an unusual addition to a box collection.
