Greetings! This week I am offering a fine selection of vintage 1940's to 60's Volkswagen toys, including some seldom found rarities. The iconic split, oval and square rear window Beetle Käfer, and passenger bus are all represented. Tin, plastic and diecast in a variety of scales are on offer. Manufacturers include Wiking, Siku, Schuco, CKO Kellermann, and Märklin of Germany, Bandai (Japan), Tekno and Lego (Denmark), Sabra (Israel), Dinky (England) and a beautiful Sweering oval window model from Holland. They have been cherished as a part of my personal collection for many years, and are now available to add to yours!

This auction is for a vintage 1950s Lego (Denmark) Volkswagen Vw Beetle 1/36 Scale promotional model in beautiful original condition. Unlike the common HO Lego models, these large 5 inch models were available for a very short period of time, originally sold through Volkswagen dealerships like Wiking 1/40 models, and then later sold through retail stores for a brief period. Please see the photo illustrating the size difference between the HO and this larger model. These highly sought after models are made of a very thin and delicate plastic which cracks and breaks easily. It is very difficult to find one that is not missing a piece or broken. This one is a beautiful complete example, very near mint, with well shaped original black rubber tires with no flat spots, plastic windows, metal baseplate, silver and red painted trim. Note a tiny crack on left front edge, and left front roof pillar. The detailed and magnified photos are part of the description and should show any age or factory flaws.
