*** This part number is tailored specifically for the first generation units that uses Tyan S2390 (Trinity KT) motherboard. Doesn't mix at all with other boards. **

You can tell that it's a Tyan motherboard if you see a big 'Tyan' logo on POST. It also has the Joystick port at the back.
I also have the drive for newer revisions of the 1680 series with newer motherboards. Contact me and I'll help you out.

Specific to Tyan S2390 motherboards:
  • Windows 2000 only.
  • I updated the Windows 2000 to SP4 and up, supporting USB natively
  • Latest firmware loaded and the required NET framework installed.
  • RT8139C is expected as the network card (no external driver needed)
You might need click through driver detection and go through a few reboots.

Depending on hardware availability, you have two choices:
  1. Mechanical hard drive like the one on the left: this is a direct drop-in replacement if you are too afraid to deviate from the service manual.
  2. SSD solution: like the one on the right: it's lighter, faster, more robust, and a lot less cable clutter. Take out the old bulky IDE cable, plug the DOM (Disk-On-Module) directly to the motherboard and hook up the Molex power connector to the conversion cable. That's it!
I reserve the right to give you drives of any capacity that will run the whole oscilloscope software, depending on availability.

I'll try to accommodate your preference whenever possible. Expect a few more days if the form factor you requested is not immediately available. If you require a minimum capacity that I don't readily have, I can order it for you and charge you for that.

International buyers: shipping might be much more expensive if you choose mechanical hard drive. $200 is just a placeholder so you can choose direct ship instead of Global Shipping Program. Ask me for a shipping quote.
