This module is a direct replacement for the CP601 FG Amplifier Unit, which forms part of the motor drive system of the Sony WM-D6.

Like the CP301 Muting Modules and CP302 & 303 EQ Switching Modules, these have been found to fail in some of the WM-D6 Professional Walkmans. When they fail, the motor speed can vary, sometimes running too fast or too slow.

The original potted FG Amplifier Modules are no longer available from Sony. This is a direct plug in replacement for the Sony module, which will fit directly into the WM-D6. Note that this module is not used in the WM-D6C

Simply remove the old faulty module and fit the new replacement.
