DESCRIPTION:
Considering this hand crafted and hand carved early to mid 19th century early American wooden cookie/pastry mold is nearly, if not 200 years old, it's in what would have to be considered to be in fairly well preserved overall antique condition. The slightly visible split in the top wooden plank down the middle of the mold is an old one and seems to have been mended long ago, since the entire wooden mold has structural integrity and is still solid. The mold consists of 2-board wooden construction, most likely pine and was found here in New Hampshire. The top board has hand carved, figural cut-outs and the attached bottom board acts as the floor of the cookie cut-out motifs of the top board. The two boards are fastened together with nails. There's also a hand drilled hole in the board in which to hang the mold on a nail. The wood still maintains its very dark, original, antique, naturally aged patina and hasn't been 'skinned' or otherwise disturbed. The mold appears to be complete and wholly original. We've not touched the mold, including dusting, rinsing or oiling it. We've elected to keep it in exactly the same condition in which we encountered it. The primitive hand carving consists of three decorative, figurative motifs, one the shape of an 'ace of spades' or conifer tree form and the other two figures of a flower and what appears to be a 'comma' or a droplet of water. There's an inscribed cross on the inside of the top tree form. This is an early American, antique hand carved wooden cookie mold and it's still very exciting to have the opportunity to find and be able to offer quality early American antiques, such as this early American cookie mold to the public. Great original surfaces and great hand carving make this a great antique wooden cookie mold. What's looking back at you on your walls of your kitchen?

CONDITION:
Good to Very Good overall antique condition.
