French Vintage Mirror With Carved Detail Louis XVI
Decorative French Vintage Mirror with its original paint finish. It has great patina. The textured area could be gesso, I am not sure. The top of the mirror has a beautiful decorative shell. The mirror is a sort of gold with green undertones and bronze highlights.
The frame is in good vintage condition with a few scuffs and areas missing in the paint. There is the odd piece missing form the moulded area and the wood is visible. Some areas where the plaster has gone have been touched up in the past with gold, this adds to the authenticity of the piece, otherwise it would look like reproduction. The mirror looks to have been replaced at some point. There is slight movement to the mirror inside the frame but it is just through age and is not uncommon in mirrors of this style. The back is wooden and one are is a little loose on one side. Traces of dust as I have only lightly cleaned it as I feel over polishing would spoil the look. Traces of old woodworm, I have wood wormed as a precaution. Please study photographs for detail and please consider before you purchase that this is a vintage mirror so has traces of life.

Shipping is from France by French Colissimo which includes insurance and a tracking number and requires a signature.
