Summer is a soft and sturdy yarn of 70% cotton 30% viscose rayon. The style is 4x 2-ply cotton twisted with a strand of unspun rayon. The touch of rayon adds highlights of shine to your fabric. The ply structure makes it naturally resistant to pilling. It is lovely to crochet with, you can see and feel the heirloom quality. (Great for knitting too!)

The yarn comes in a plastic zipper bag. Each bag includes 4 balls of Summer. Each ball is 100 grams or 3.5 ounces, and has 350 meters or 370 yards. So each bag has a total of 400 grams and 1480 yards. All the balls of each color in this listing are from the same dye lot. This yarn is classified as 2 or Fine. It is a sport weight, some might consider it fingering weight. Use a 3mm/D hook or 3.5mm/US4 needles to get a gauge of approximately 6.5 stitches and 8 rows per inch.
Perfect for baby projects like a baptism dress or crib blanket, but also nice for an adult summer sweater or shawl. An adult sweater would require about 500-600 grams or 5-6 balls. Machine washable on cold water setting. If you wish, you can dye this yarn with fiber reactive dyes.
