NutriVitaShop.com N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) is a more stable form of the amino acid L-Cysteine and is the most effective way to boost Glutathione levels in the body. NAC is a more stable form of L-Cysteine because it has an acetyl group (CH3CO) attached. NAC has all the properties of L-Cysteine but is more water soluble and said to be more bio-available than L-Cysteine.
NAC naturally stimulates glutathione, an antioxidant enzyme. People who have autoimmune problems are often deficient in glutathione. NAC has been used to raise immunity to the flu, and also to treat chronic respiratory problems. A recent study was conducted in which most of the subjects were over 65. Suggested Usage: As a dietary supplement, take 500-1000 mg of powder with water or your favorite beverage, 1-2 times daily or as directed by your physician. For maximum benefit, take up to 2.4 grams (2400mg) per day. When using powder mix for 15 to 20 seconds using a shaker cup or mix thoroughly with a spoon. Slightly sour in taste but palatable. May be hygroscopic and may clump during storage. This does not effect the efficacy of the product, but just the texture.
