Although this set comes with a Radio Control Controller and transformer (transformer is fitted with a 3 pin UK 240 Volt mains plug), the loco will operate with a normal 0 - 12 Volt variable DC power controller - The radio Control unit can also be used to control any 0 - 12 Volt layout - as such it is very universal.
