The combination of alnico 5 rod magnets on the lower three strings (E,A,D) and alnico 2 rod magnets on the high three strings (G,B,E) creates a smooth, well balanced output. Punchy attack with well defined bass response on the lower register and warm swelling vintage tones on the upper register. No more need to compromise on either muddy bass response or harsh highs. The bridge pickup is over wound and the middle pickup is reversed for humbucking in the 2 and 4 positions.

FLAT POLES vs VINTAGE STAGGERED POLES
Flat pole pickups will have more bass, presence, and slightly more output than a pickup with vintage staggered poles. Typically flat pole pickups will have more balanced output from string to string. The high E won't be as subdued and the G string won't overpower the others.
Staggered pole pickups have a slightly more pronounced midrange. If you are already accustomed to playing staggered pole pickups these are a great option. They are not recommended for guitars that have a neck radius greater than 9.5 inches.
