Rare set of (8) eight coin silver spoons made by Davis,Palmer & Co. Highly regarded silversmiths in Boston, Massachusetts from 1837-1845.

The three partners were Thomas Aspinwall Davis, Julius Aboyneau Palmer and Josiah Giles Batchelder.

Thomas Aspinall Davis died in 1845 and the partnership ended

The spoons are in the classic fiddle shape but highly decorated for the time with scallop designs on both the front and back of the spoons.

The makers mark is a Man’s head in profile, a shooting star and a lion passant.

Each spoon measures 5 & 7/8” long. The set of 8 weigh 128 grams.
