Cornelian cherry (Cornus mas)
A unique member of the dogwood family. Cornelian-Cherry is one of the earliest small trees to bloom in the spring. Its yellow flowers and arching branches add excellent ornamental interest to your landscape. Grows in partial shade. Flowers last one to three weeks, followed by edible red elongated fruits. Fruit is similar to tart cherry and is suitable for jellies, preserves, and wine making. Cold-hardy.
