Land Rover Series gearbox main shaft nut special tool
This is a special tool for fitting and correctly torquing the nut on the back of the main shaft of a series Land Rover gearbox.
This nut is removed when fitting or removing an over drive / PTO or rebuilding the gearbox.
The nut is often refitted using a drift or chisel which not only damages the nut but does not put the correct torque on it this can cause an otherwise good gearbox to become noisy.

This tool is used for tightening up the main shaft nut on the
end of the gearbox output shaft to a torque of 85lbf.ft.
