Antique Chinese stone Inkwell (Ink slab) with
exquisite carving handcrafts.
Very rare and unique inkwell with incredible detailing of the
traditional dynasty dragon and the pearl style.
Condition: The tip of the dragon carving’s left horn is slightly chipped (please refer to the picture).
Minor scratches/hair lines appear due to the age of item and previous usage.
Overall in very good condition.
The item is made from famous DuanYan stone with its quality considered one of the best four kind of carving stones in China (DuanYan, Gansu, Anhui, and Shanxi Gelian). The name DuanYan has a long history of more than 1,300 years since the early Tang dynasty (618-907).
A fine collector’s piece, it would make a superb addition to any collection of Asian art sculpture in general.
