Vintage Workwear Jacket, Navy Blue Chore Jacket with Security Patch on Chest; 1980s Union Made Blue Canvas CoatFantastic vintage workwear or uniform jacket.  This jacket is probably from the 1980s, but possibly earlier. It came from an estate that had clothing from the 40s through the 80s.  The patch on this jacket reads "Statewide Guard Service", and the only reference I can find to this are some old help wanted ads from newspapers in the early 80s.  The jacket is a dark blue, typical of this type of coat.  It has two front patch pockets with button flap closures.  One pocket has an opening to slip a pen into from the top, without opening the flap.  There is a metal zipper up the front (YKK), and there is also an internal zipper showing that there was a lining that would have zipped in, though that is missing now.  The jacket has button cuffs, though one cuff is missing its button.  There are also button tabs on the back of the waist, each with only one button (looks like each had two once upon a time).  There are no holes or stains.  The jacket has an orange tag that says "48", which I assume is the size. It says "Union Made" and has a WPL of 7796 which is for M. Setlow & Sons.  This is a single layer jacket, great for spring and fall, like a windbreaker. According to some online size charts, a 48" chest is an XXL.  This jacket is marked 48, and the measurement of the chest of the jacket is 54".  There should be extra room to allow for movement.  The standard is 4", but this is a larger jacket, so 6" may be normal.  Measurements are listed below and are taken across the outside of the garment while it is laid flat.

Armpit to armpit: 27"

Shoulder to hem: 26"

Across Shoulders: 21"

Across waistband: 24"

Armpit to cuff: 20"
