1996 Palaces of St. Petersburg Brooch

In 1996 the Mississippi Commission for International Cultural Exchange developed and opened the Palaces of St. Petersburg exhibition of Russian Imperial Art and Antiquities.  During it's 6 month run it saw more than half a million visitors.  The exhibition couldn't have happened without the army of volunteer docents assisting with the day to day operation.  As a perk for volunteering, each docent was given a commemorative brooch with the exhibition griffin on it.  They proved to be very popular with exhibition guests as well and a similar brooch was designed for sale.  This is one of those brooches.

It is in new condition and still in the protective plastic sleeve it came in.  It has never been warn and I removed it from the sleeve for the first time to take pics for this listing.  These are not available for sale anywhere and haven't been for over 20 years. I just happened to have these from my time working there.  Grab it while it lasts.  Very rare these days.
