These breakers are a great DIY option to consider when purchasing an off grid inverter breaker.  They are often used as the breaker/switch connection between the positive connection of an off grid inverter and a battery bank.  These breakers are specially designed with a time delay to prevent nuisance tripping during high surge loads often encountered with off grid inverters or other telecommunications equipment.

These breakers are the same in their core physical body specifications as the OutBack Power PNL-250-DC, Midnite Solar MNEDC-175, MNEDC-250, Magnum Energy BR-DC175, BR-DC250 breakers.   They do not include the long extender bolts and bushings that are found on the Midnite Solar & Outback Power breaker electrical bonding terminals but are nearly identical to the electrical connections that are found on the Magnum Energy breakers(see photos).  

These breakers will work with 24VDC or 48VDC systems or any application up to 125VDC.  With the 53S time delay break profile, they are ideal for use with off grid inverters or devices that incur surge power demands.  The time delay prevents nuisance tripping during high current surge events.

Although these breakers have the same core body dimensions as the Outback, Magnum & Midnite Solar breakers, they have a different stud electrical terminal configuration that exits the the ends of the breaker via short bus bar extensions (see photos).   These short bus bar extensions can be removed if not needed and used with the included electrical bonding bolts and washers that are located at each breaker terminal.

This circuit can activate an alarm to notify the user or other equipment of a trip event.  The breaker has a built in dry contact that is isolated electrically from the main breaker circuit.  The back of the circuit breaker has three 0.28" long by 0.19" wide tabs which can remotely notify the user if the circuit breaker is tripped. One is common, one is normally open and one is normally closed and they are rated at one amp at 80 VDC.  If your application requires back mounting in a Magnum Energy Cabinet or other application where back mounting is required, the remote tabs can easily be removed without effecting the operation of the breaker whatsoever.  The alarm circuit is completely isolated from the breaker main interrupt circuit.
