Michał Kubiak (born 23 February 1988) is aPolish volleyball player, a member of Polish national team and Turkish club Halkbank Ankara, a participant of the Olympic GamesLondon 2012, World Champion 2014, a gold medalist of the World League 2012, silver medalist of the World Cup 2011, bronze medalist of the European Championship 2011and the World League 2011.
The 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship was held in Poland from 30 August to 21 September 2014. The tournament featured 24 teams to determine the world champions in men'svolleyball. In addition to the host nation Poland, 23 teams qualified for the tournament by means of continental and regional competitions. The matches took place in seven venues across seven Polish cities, with the final being held atSpodek, Katowice.
The tournament was won by the host country Poland, who beat Brazil (who won the previous three titles) in the final. Poland became the fourth team in the history of the competition to be crowned in their own country, joining the Soviet Union (1952 and 1962) and Czechoslovakia (1966).[1]
563,263 fans[a] watched the matches during the 18-day event, smashing the previous records in the competition. In Italy four years earlier, the total was 339,324, while in Japan in 2006 it was 298,352.

Michał Kubiak, (born 23 February 1988 in Wałcz), is a Polish international volleyball player. He was a member of the Poland squad who won the gold medal at the 2012 FIVB World League. Currently, he plays for the Polish team Jastrzębski Węgiel (since 2011). Before his career as an indoor volleyball player, Michał Kubiak played beach volleyball with Zbigniew Bartman. They won a gold medal at the European U-18 Championship in 2004 and a silver medal at the World U-18 Championship. Kubiak made his debut in the Polish volleyball league during the season 2005/2006. His career accelerated after a good performances in the B squad of the Polish national team. Kubiak was first appointed to represent the Polish national team by coach Andrea Anastasi in 2011. With the Polish team, he won three medals in 2011 - silver at World Cup and two bronzes at World League and European Championship. He is a gold medalist of World League 2012 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
