Auriscope made by J. Weiss & Son, 287 Oxford Street, London.   Their offices were based at this address from 1885.   

The auriscope is presented in a black fabric covered , hinged, clasped box, with a monogram and crest stamped in gold on the lid - A.M./crown.   The lining in the lid is padded royal blue satin with the J. Weiss & Son logo stamped in gold.   The instrument lies in the moulded base, lined in navy blue velvet.  It is designed to operate by battery.   There are two minute screw in bulbs.   One piece has lost some plating (perhaps silver?)
