The precise blade adjustable depth settings make this a tool that can open boxes without cutting the product inside. Each blade has rounded and blunted ends which prevent damage to the items inside the box.
Unique Design: The Easy Cut ™ safety knife is made from a durable plastic that won’t break into pieces when dropped. The designers at Emerge Power have created this tool for both left and right hand users. There are metal edge guides on both sides of the front of the knife to allow for precise easy cuts.
Easy Squeeze Trigger: No need to unscrew to extend and retract the blade. Just squeeze the Easy Cut ™ safety knife’s trigger at the bottom and your blade extends automatically. Once you are done the cut, just let go of the trigger and the blade will retract all the way in by itself!! The exceptional handy feature this author preferred is the knob at the back of the knife that allows you to set the blade length to three different settings as well as locking the blade into place. The three different settings are great when you are cutting different types of boxes.
Blade Chamber: The blades are manufactured from a high quality steel that have two cutting surfaces so you can flip them over to extend their life. The easy access storage chamber in the middle of the knife can easily house up to 2 different blades. There is onboard storage for two blades within the Easy Cut Cutter; therefore, minimizing downtime for blade changes. Blade Activation: Squeezing the trigger on the Easy Cut Box Cutter will extend the blade. To begin the cut, squeeze the trigger just prior to engaging the box. After cutting begins, it is not necessary to continue to squeeze the trigger as the cutting itself keeps the blade engaged. The blade with automatically retract into the cutter when the cut is complete.
Blade depth setting: There are three blade depth settings on the Easy Cut Box cutter. Setting (1) is for cutting single wall boxes. Setting (2) is for double wall boxes. Setting (3) is for all other cutting, including triple wall boxes used for appliance packaging. Setting (L) is for storing the blade inside the cutter..
The Edge Guide allows for both left and right handed users to cut the tops of boxes off in a uniform manner.

Avery Monarch EasyCut Safety Cutter. A simple squeeze of the trigger extends the blade into position. Once cutting begins, the user can release the trigger and allow the tension of the cutting force to hold the blade extended. Then, at the completion of the cut, the blade instantly retracts back into the handle. Also, built into the foot of the handle, is an easy-to-use dial that sets four different blade depths: “1” for single-wall corrugated boxes; “2” for double-wall boxes; “3” for utility cutting; and “L” for safely storing or “locking” the blade inside the cutter when not in use. Yet another reliable safety feature is the top-load blade carriage, with a loading simplicity and blade stability far superior to any conventional box cutter that must be disassembled for blade replacement. The user simply opens the cover and drops the blade into the compartment, where it then orients to a saddle closure that holds the blade steady. Closing the cover then securely locks the blade in place. Finally, for quick blade changeout, the spine of the handle features an easy-access chamber that holds two spare blades.
Instructions: Set the dial on top of the cutter to the desired blade dept setting. Position 1 - single wall boxes (90% of all cuts), Position 2 - double wall boxes, Position 3 - utility cut, Position L - lock position
Squeeze trigger to expose blade. Release trigger once blade is engaged in the box. Caution - Once blade is engaged it will not automatically retract until pressure on the trigger is released. You may release pressure on the trigger once the blade is in the box and cutting.
Edge guides: Left and right handed guides can be pushed out for easy top cuts.
Loading blades: Top cover opens for blade change and spare blade compartment. The easy cut can hold 1 blade and 2 spare blades.
