Georgian Old Sheffield Lyre Shaped Pair Candlesticks c1790

An unusual pair of beautiful Georgian Old Sheffield Plate candlesticks in the form of a Lyre (harp), with two scrolled supports as the frame and five wires in between representing the strings, on a round base and supporting the sconce.

The candlesticks are in good condition with the following defects: one of the scrolls is un-soldered at its base; there is a small dent on one of the sconces; there are some strings bending; the ring inside one of the sconce is moving. The silver layer is in very good condition with minor wear in the form of spots. The copper underneath is scarcely visible on some edge.

They represent a beautiful example of neoclassic candlesticks from the late XVIII century.

Dimension: they are 20 cm high and have a diameter of 10.3 cm.
