Lovely Summer Ro Silk Oritsuru Design Kimono...

I grew up with kimono and this is from my personal selection series of Kimono and kitsuke accessories; items that I find to exhibit a special quality, either exceptional design, superior workmanship or just something quintessentially Japanese about them…

The design is of purple Japanese folded paper cranes “oritsuru” on a backgroud dotted with red cloud-like shapes. It is made of cool summer Ro silk.

It is in excellent condition for it’s age and has been carefully stored so it is clean and has no apparent stains or odor. It came from Kanazawa “little Kyoto” and was no doubt owned by someone of wealth and social standing as it would have been very costly when new.

Note that due to reduced flights, JAPAN POST has suspended Air Parcel service to the USA, Australia and a few other countries (Europe is not effected). It is not known how long this will last but in the meantime, we are using JAPAN POST SURFACE mail which has tracking and insurance but can take about 60 days to the USA.

Alternatively, for an additional charge, YAMATO INTERNATIONAL offers extremely fast door to door service for a flat-rate for their various size boxes. The smallest “60cm” box is $30 to most countries, can hold up to two kg and measures 27 X 19 X 19cm and arrives in about a week.
