Exceptional, perfectly coordinated kitsuke set that includes: Kimono, Maru-Obi, Matching Zori/Bag Set & Obijime/Obiage accessories as seen in the photos.
The kimono is a “koburi-Sode" type, made of gorgeous deep wine silk in a stunning, "Kissho-Gara” design across the bottom inside and out and a Hana-Kenbishi Kamon in 5 places. It is lined an scarlet silk. It is in exellent condition inside and out with a lovely antique patina - see photos. It is probably 60-70 years old but has been carefully stored and has no tears or odor. Includes a washi-paper tatoushi for storage. An absolutely beautiful, timelessly classic items!
The obi is the “Maru-Obi” type - meaning it has the same embroidery on both sides. In measures 33cm wide and 385cm long.
I grew up with kimono and this is from my personal selection series of Kimono and kitsuke accessories; items that I find to exhibit a special quality, either exceptional design, superior workmanship or just something quintessentially Japanese about them…
The kimono measures:
Length: 165cm

This zori set is ’used’ but with no apparent stains, discoloration or odor and appears almost new except for the bottom of the soles of the zori and some minor marks in the lining of the clutch. They were most likely used once or twice and are still in the beautiful, original box they came in with the certificate from the maker.
Elegant gold brocade islands in the sea design from Kyoto’s “Saganishiki"… This was a very expensive item when new and is of the finest quality: Made in Kyoto!
These Zori are a standard Japanese size 24cm, however in Japan, your foot is not expected to necessarily ‘fit’ in the Western sense and it is considered optimal to overhang the heal by a few centimeters.
The bag is made of stiffened brocade and has a clasp fastener and is fully lined with internal pockets...
