AUTHENTIC
KIRK DOUGLAS
AUTOGRAPHED NEWSPAPER

This was auctioned off from "CURE FOR CANCERS" and comes with a LETTER of AUTHENTICITY from them. Mr. Douglas signed it in black sharpie. He also signed several Index Cards, of which are each listed in separate auctions.

The newspaper is from Los Angeles Daily News dated 1954. It features a photograph of Kirk Douglas with Anne Buydens. The caption reads, "ELOPED---Actor Kirk Douglas surprised Hollywood by flying to Las Vegas Saturday with pretty French blond Anne Buydens, 31, where they were married by Judge John V. Lytle at the Sahara's Hotel. Douglas met his bride last spring in Paris, where she has a publicity office. It is the second marriage for both."

"Thank you Mr. Douglas for a lifetime of memories for all of us out there in the dark. There are a lot of stars in the movies these days, but you were the last movie star, the end of an era in Hollywood."

Everyone knew this day was coming. No one lives forever, and Kirk Douglas was 103, but for some reason he seemed invincible to me. Maybe it was all those movies, but for my entire life Kirk Douglas has always been there in so many memorable performances I can’t begin to count.

Kirk Douglas' acting career spanned 60 years, three Best Actor Oscar noms and a host of lifetime honors. Spartacus,
Ace in the Hole, Detective Story, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, The Vikings, Last Train From Gun Hill, The Devil’s Disciple, Seven Days in May, The Heroes of Telemark, Tough Guys,
so many more.
