This is a pair of a beautiful and original Bronze coloured Art Nouveau bust/sculpture - by the famous German Artist Franz Iffland. 

The "L'Hiver" and the “L’éte”.  In French means “Winter” and “Summer”. 

The Artist created only these two “seasons busts” in this big size. On the front of the busts has the title "L"Hiver" and “L’Éte”, and the back is the sign F. Iffland - which is the artists signature. 

They are genuine and fine art work. 


Franz Iffland (1862-1935) was a famous German sculptor and painter who trained at the Berlin School of Sculptors (Berliner Bildhauerschule). He had exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Arts in 1886, 1890 and 1892 where he was represented in the Great Art Exhibition in Berlin. 

These great busts are featured in Michael Forrestâe's Art Bronzes, and in Vol. 4 of Harold Berman's Bronzes Sculptors and Founders. 

They are rare and highly collectable Art Nouveau sculptures.  Made with wonderful artistic detail and fine casting which made of painted spelter.
