Vantage was a sub-brand of the Hamilton Watch Co, a result of Hamilton's partnership with Ricoh and their attempt to break into the Japanese market. Introduced in 1965 the brand was sold to Seiko in 1969. Despite being less expensive, Vantage still continued Hamilton's great traditions of quality and bold design.
This particular Vantage with its '10 2 4' Dial and Red & White colour scheme was part of the collection of a Coca-Cola Bottling Plant owner in the US, however the '10 2 4' Dial and the colours refer to the famous Dr Pepper slogan, where they recommended Dr Pepper at 10am, 2pm and 4pm as a healthy pick me up.
It has fab retro pop art styling, in bold red and white colours, and shows no signs of wear.
A fantastic unique piece of genuine mid century "pop" art, 50 years old this year, and never worn, a great looking watch for either a man or a woman.
Working fine. Mint and unworn in original Vantage Box.
Foam padding in the box is a bit aged and crumbly. Watch is perfect.
